FAQ

What is your medium?

I blend oil paint and cold wax medium using a palette knife, then apply 20–30 layers onto a wooden panel using a spatula and a printer's roller called a brayer. Each layer is incised with various sharp tools for surface texture and interest.

Over time, some marks are obscured while others remain intact. Examine my paintings closely and you’ll discover underlying colors peeking through the scratches. I also like to use transparent colors, which lend depth and luminosity to my paintings. When dry, the surface presents a highly durable, matte finish.

Wax as a painting medium dates back over 4,000 years to ancient Greece and Rome. It was later popularized in Egypt where 600 works survive from 100–300 A.D., a testament to its longevity and beauty through the ages.

How can I print digital download art?

Digital art is a reproduction of my original artwork that's priced much higher at art galleries. Now, it's available to you at a fraction of the cost. Hurrah!

Download and print digital art on your home printer, or upload it to print services offered by Staples, FedEx Office, and Costco. For higher-quality prints, check out Bay Photo, American Color Labs, or Framebridge.

Enlarge digital downloads up to the size indicated under "Product Details." Most of my digital files can go even bigger, but please send me an email beforehand so I can confirm this. I don't want your image to be blurry!

Please Note: The colors may vary slightly from the printed product due to differences in monitor and printer calibrations.

Where can I get square frames?

Square frames are readily available at Target, Michael's, Bed Bath & Beyond, and Amazon. Of course, you may also want to support your local printer.
